Through 7 generations, one can relive the epic story of the Bassin d’Arcachon.

To avoid long crossings from Gujan-Mestras to their parks, the Reveleau family and their cousins settled in the Anse du Canon in Lège Cap Ferret, sheltered from the wind in simple wooden cabins.

Originally sardine fishermen, the Réveleau became oyster farmers as soon as the parks opened for production. Harvesting wild oysters gave way to these « farmers of the sea. »

In 1920, Claude and his ancestors sold oysters to cooperatives. Then, Philippe gave new momentum to their marketing in France and across Europe.

Turning away from aluminum boats, Vincent restored his grandfather’s wooden chaland, and thus the adventure “Balade sur Chaland” was born.

A fleet of five boats takes you, depending on the weather, to places that are hard to access in the Bassin d’Arcachon.
This journey off the beaten path is also brought to life by the passion of these local sailors, who love to share their stories, their anecdotes…
